This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

This on it’s own is all very interesting, but it doesn’t in fact prove anything.

At a later date, when I was looking through my notes looking for certain information to update this article, I came across something that I had completely forgotten about.

Years back, when Colin Tuck flew back into Jacobs River to try to pinpoint the position that the clairvoyant ‘acted up’ in his helicopter... claiming that “this is where they are,”  Colin did not give me one position, but two... as he was not sure given the long period of time that had passed since he had done the ‘clairvoyant’s flight.” We had discounted this other position as it didn’t fit into what seemed the most likely position/scenario at the time.

This other position was directly across the river ...not that far to where the dead Kea was found!

On discussing this with other members of our search team, it also became apparent that this position had a much stronger possibility of the women at Hunts Beach being able to hear the crash noise (being closer and almost in a direct line of sight to that beach) and with the steep sides of the valley along with the cloud cover observed at the time, this would most definitively have had a megaphone effect to enable this.

The only downside to all this is James Scott informs me that he has hunted this area and also dropped hunters into this area in the past, but on discussing this with the hunters in our search team, they feel that this area cannot be discounted due to this as hunters generally stick to the animal tracks, so there will still be many areas that will not have been covered.

If Chadwick had realised by then that he was in the wrong valley and had tried to do a reversal turn, this side of the river (NW side) is where he may well have stalled in the turn.

Time will tell.....

UPDATE 22-Sept-2013

In the June 2013 edition of New Zealand Aviation News, Alec Waugh (Richard Waugh’s brother) published an article that helps to endorse my conclusions from my research into this mystery. I must point out once again, the object is not who is right or wrong. The object is to find ZK-AFB, bring finality to the families, and end the mystery! Alec once was one of NZ’s top cops, so his endorsement is very appreciated, and a real honour. Many thanks Alec.
