This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

Above is a collection of photos that I took as we worked our way down the stream/ravine.
Eventually, we returned to the Van to have lunch and a rest up.
After that we left all our gear behind and went for a bit of a stroll up the stream until we reached the waterfall that we knew must be there due to the topography of the land.
On the way back from there we all went in different directions - at least I did, as I wanted to check things over more thoroughly.
I came to the conclusion that if ZK-AJV was still there, then it could have been somewhere we we hadn’t looked, so I set about searching the steep banks leading up out of the stream/ravine much
more thoroughly.  When I came across black-berry bushes, rather than go around them, I gingerly pushed my way into them and discovered that underneath quite a few of them were hidden temporarily dried up streams leading down to the Wai Wai Ravine, and some of them were quite deep. At one stage I got up onto the bank of one of these and carefully made my way along the edge, being careful where I placed my feet. One part looked  
quite solid, but when I put some weight on my foot, I found that there was nothing there!
Consequently, I fell down through the blackberries, but thankfully my foot landed on a ledge before I got to the bottom. It was rather difficult getting back up as all there was to hang on to was blackberry bushes.
After the fruitless search we had down the ravine, I had resigned myself to acknowledging
