This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

She said that as she turned the corner to her house she lost sight of it.
This can easily be explained as as she turned this final corner to take her to her house, the road took her through a cutting between the hills obscuring her vision to the north.
She said that she could hear the plane to the north when she got out of her car in the driveway but had to answer the phone as it was ringing (as they always seem to do at an awkward time!) and there was no sign of it 15 mins later when she got off the phone.

Jesse Miller – Mrs D. Krane/ Bucketts Way

This is possibly the most important sighting of all the sightings, yet I can only go by the limited information that Jesse has collected on this (he hasn’t done too bad a job though).  As I have personally been unable to contact Mrs Krane, my placing of where this occurred is really an educated guess based on the information available. You will understand my frustration and what I mean as you read further...  (This is my summary of the hand written Report):
Mrs Donna Krane was driving down the road of Bucketts Way and had just passed Weismantels when her radio faded due to static and so she was tuning the radio to another station when she saw the bright landing lights of a plane coming from the west to NW from the general direction of Riverwood.   The time was around 7.45 to 7.50 pm.  She estimated it to be at around 200 meters above her.
When it reached her or even just passed over her, it turned and followed the Bucketts Way Highway towards Stroud Road for about a minute or so, and then turned SE towards the coast. She could just make out the shape of the plane when it was ahead of her and can remember the “little lights flashing” and the glare of the landing lights beaming out through the darkness ahead of it.
She tried to keep an eye on it while she was driving, but by the time she passed Stroud Hill Road, it had disappeared into the hills east of Stroud, but “above Stroud... If you know what I mean?” she said.
She said she saw it for a total time of about 5 to 6 minutes.

She also said the weather that night was really cold with strong winds. rain, then sleety snow, but she doesn’t say where this rain and sleety snow occurred. My guess is that it was also showery and when she saw the plane was in between showers – otherwise I would find it difficult to believe that she could see it for so long, and especially expect to see it from as far south as Stroud Road Hill.
