This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

North Head Boeings.

You’ll note that the bank has “marked itself” by showing greener grass in that location!

To be doubly sure, I checked back by using the “Historical Imagery” feature on Google Earth, and although it has imagery of 1963(!!!), 1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, there are only four that are in focus enough to be of any use: 2000, 2006, 2008, 2010. Of these, I would class 2006 and 2008 as being inconclusive, and with the 2010 image above, it looks pretty interesting, … but have a look at this:

I guess it is all to do with the rainfall. It is obvious that there is a lot more ‘water retaining’ soil in this area, so this surely indicates that there is a lot more top soil in this area!

On checking over the whole of North Head, this appears to be the largest and greenest patch on the whole hill!

In this next image, I have drawn around the probable entrance in red and going by the angle of the road and the apparent angle shown of the entrance in the 1895 photograph, I have drawn in green what I think would be the direction the tunnel goes in especially according to the wider track leading towards it…. at least in the entrance area.
